Spanish for Kids
The Center for Global Languages now offers a Conversational Spanish program designed specifically for elementary and middle school-ages children. Classes are offered in partnership with the school or the after-school activities provider:
- We currently have two course offerings for beginners: Spanish for Kids, Level 1A and Level 1B.
- Each course teaches children some basic vocabulary, questions, and key phrases within age-appropriate contexts. Grammar is not a program component.
- The language is presented through games such as Bingo, Hangman, Jeopardy, Simon Says, Scavenger Hunts, Wordsearches, Memory Games, and 20 Questions, plus lots of paired and group exercises, songs, and creative arts.
- The course integrates a 10-minute video activity from the Muzzy Video program into every class. This is a cartoon series that allows students comprehension practice in a new and exciting context.
- Each course is 15-hours in length, offered once a week for 1.5 hours per class after school.
- The course fee includes snacks, student workbook, and all instructional materials (crayons, pencils, scissors, etc.).
